On Wednesdays, and Wednesdays only, Sunny Deli, tucked away in the arcade of the Carew Tower, serves up Bi Bim Bap. OK, it is not quite as good as Sung's, but it is more convenient and a terrific lunchtime treat. For $7.99 you get a generous serving of rice, lettuce, cucumber, sprouts, egg, and a heap of marinated, seasoned beef. All the ingredients are pre-cooked and chopped, ready to be assembled as you order. The owner squirts soy and hot sauce on top. Warning, he can have a pretty heavy hand with the hot sauce, at least if, like me, you are not accustomed to spicy food. I stop in after a workout at the Carew Tower gym, take it back to my desk, and eat it way too fast. Yum!
